Somerset Art Works (SAW) New Identity

Sunday, 8th March, 2009

Somerset Art Works (SAW) is the new name for Somerset Art Week, reflecting the growing breadth of the organisation’s activities.

We were commissioned to create a new brand for SAW, Somersets leading visual arts organisation, to reflect the changing nature of the organisations activities. Our experience as an arts led design team has proved beneficial in providing a strong contemporary design informed through in depth knowledge of SAWs working practtice.

Sensory Navigation Creative Research

Monday, 9th February, 2009

Simon Lee Dicker + Terry Orchard

An ongoing participatory arts project aimed at improving access to, and the experience of, open spaces for young people with special needs.

We have been working directly with children, parents, carers and teachers from the Pioneer School in Basildon to create new ideas for improved access to public spaces based on research developed with this special needs client group.

With a focus on access, interpretation and navigation we have encouraged the students to be involved in all aspects of the project from the outset. We have produced video, audio and photographic work alongside drawings and text that will be available to download by November 2008.

This work has been funded through a Bright Sparks Research and Development Award and Essex County Council. For more info visit http://www.haringwoods.com/site/91/404.html
